A Little Late But .....

Finally, I was able to put the finishing touches on my November Art Calendar Journal. I had it almost all finished last weekend but just ran out of time before my week at school started. Planning, teaching, report cards and conferences made for a long week! But now we have a week off for Thanksgiving and only 11 days remaining on my assignment! I will miss the kids and the staff at my school but I am ready for a break so I can get back to quilting!
I had this background fabric in my stash so I decided to use it and then only use fall colored circles for the days since the fabric was already busy. I realize that it is almost December so I spent some time catching up on the daily entries. Hopefully, I will also be able to create my December calendar this week. With family staying with us this week I can't make any promises Ü

Here is my October calendar all filled in!

Remember this quilt?
Yesterday was my niece, Courtney's wedding and this is the quilt that I made for her and her new husband, Chris. Glad to be a part of their special day!

Brown for November!

I finished my Rainbow Scrap Challenge block for November! The color for November is brown. Not my favorite color to use in a quilt but I like how the block turned out.
Little by little I have spent more time either in my sewing room or hand quilting my hexagons. No where near the amount of time I am used too but more than I have since school started. I am on the countdown now for the end of my assignment. 16 more days of teaching, report cards and conferences still to be done. Then there will be 8 days before Christmas to do all that needs to be done for the Christmas holidays!
Here are all 11 blocks on my design wall. I wonder what color December will be? Now to catch up on a few more things! Head over to soscrappy to see what others are doing with brown!

Too Long!

I really miss my blog, my blogging friends, and quilting on a regular basis. I have about 1 month to go on my long term assignment and then I will be taking some considerable time off for myself!
My creative need is being satisfied by planning creative lesson plans for my first grade students. Although I enjoy teaching, I really miss my quilting.

I do have a finish to show as I finally found time to quilt and bind the second of the wedding quilts I started in the summer. The wedding is in a few weeks and the quilt is finished!
I have wanted to make a plus quilt for some time! I used Kona white for the background and Stonehenge by Northcott for the plusses.
The backing is a fabric I found at IKEA.
I chose to do straight line quilting both up and down and across the quilt.

I love the colors and brightness of this quilt I named Crossroads. I hope my niece and her fiance like it!

My Knitting Club have been knitting washcloths for our church's Prison ministry. I have knitted 10 washcloths.
Here we are on World Wide Knit In Public Day!
